Match Preview

Crvena zvezda Meridianbet basketball players will play their second match at the Cyprus tournament on Sunday, facing Thessaloniki's Aris in the battle for third place (2:45 PM).

Despite a very strong performance in their first game against Olympiacos, Zvezda ultimately suffered a narrow defeat in a thrilling finish (89:87), missing four shots for the win.

Nevertheless, the close loss doesn't change the fact that Zvezda has shown excellent form in this pre-season stage, standing toe-to-toe with the reigning European champions. Now, they'll have the chance to confirm their progress against Aris, a team entering the new season with a very respectable roster.

With players like Stefan Jović, Nenad Dimitrijević, Matthew Morgan, Vassilis Toliopoulos, Thanasis and Kostas Antetokounmpo, Kem Birch, or Jeremiah Robinson-Earl... Vassilis Spanoulis's squad will provide an excellent test for Ibon Navarro's team.

The Thessaloniki team put up strong resistance against Maccabi Tel Aviv in their first game, but the Israeli EuroLeague side ultimately secured a 92:87 victory with a late surge in the final two minutes.

The match between Aris and Zvezda is scheduled for an earlier slot, tipping off at 2:45 PM. You can catch the live broadcast of this encounter on TV Arena Sport Premium 2.
