Žalgiris Eyes Europe's Top Shooter as New Team Leader!

According to "BasketNews", Žalgiris has set its sights on Carsen Edwards, arguably Europe's top shooter alongside Andy Obst, viewing him as the team's leader for the upcoming season.

With Sylvain Francisco reportedly on his way out of Žalgiris, expected to join ASVEL for four million annually, the Lithuanian club has had to explore other options in the market.

It appears their choice has landed on the former Purdue standout, who has previously played for Fenerbahçe and Bayern Munich in Europe, establishing his reputation on the continent.

Last season, Edwards averaged 17.3 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game, finishing as the competition's fifth-leading scorer.

As for Virtus, they concluded their EuroLeague campaign in 17th place and fared no better domestically, being eliminated 3-1 by Venezia in the semi-finals.
