Gershon Yabusele is set to be one of the hottest names in free agency this summer, as the French big man's contract with the Chicago Bulls expires.
The former Real Madrid forward has made it clear he intends to remain in the NBA, ideally signing a multi-year deal with the Bulls.
Speaking to the French publication "L'Equipe," Yabusele discussed his decision to join the Bulls, emphasizing it was for competitive reasons.
"I did it out of my love for basketball. Maybe I'll regret it this summer, who knows? But that's how it is. I love competition. When you've played at the highest level, when you've competed in games like the Olympics with France, it's tough to sit on the bench and watch others play.
I hope I've done enough for the Bulls, but I don't know what the team is thinking or what they're looking for. I'd like to come back this summer. I'll keep working towards that, and I'd love to sign for many years, just to breathe a little."
