The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has been re-elected.

Following the final collation of 21 local government areas, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced that Wike polled 886,264 votes while Biokpomabo Awara, candidate of the African Alliance Congress (AAC) garnered 173,859 votes.

The margin of victory between the two candidates is 712,405.
