Man Forced To Carry Wife's Dead Body On His Head In Akwa Ibom

A man in Akwa Ibom was subjected to inhuman treatment after he defaulted in paying a mortuary to keep his wife's corpse.

The unidentified 32-year-old is said to have abandoned the corpse at a mortuary near Olu Obasanjo way in Uyo, the state capital.

According to reports, the corpse was then left in the mortuary for 3 years after the husband failed to re-appear.

However, he was eventually seen by one of the mortuary attendants who then urged him to come and pick up his late wife's body without extra charge.

The man however insisted on coming back for it the next day and when the attendant pressed on, he kicked her and then tried to escape.

Unfortunately for him, he was caught by an angry mob which followed them both to the mortuary and forced him to carry the corpse.

After looking for transportation to no avail, he then resorted to putting the body on his head.

Eventually however, a tricycle operator assisted him in carrying the corpse to his village.
