According to Kano Today, Isah's attempt to rape Isaac failed when she managed to escape from him and run away but he pursued her and after catching up with her, he murdered her and went ahead to bury her corpse in a shallow grave in an uncompleted building at the quarters, on August 3, 2016.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Magaji Majiya, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, said he had taken police officers to the building were he buried the deceased and the corpse was exhumed.

“The suspect confessed to burying Isaac but denied killing her. He said he had attempted to rape her but as she was trying to run away, she was hit by a wood on the head and that led to her death.

We have invited doctors from the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital to conduct autopsy on the deceased’s body. We are now waiting for the result."

"The suspect is currently with the police undergoing interrogation to ascertain the cause of the deceased’s death,” Majiya said.
