Haas have yet to confirm that Oliver Bearman will remain with the team for 2027, even though an option in the team's favour is widely believed to be included in his contract.
Team principal Ayao Komatsu has already dismissed speculation that the delay is due to increased wage demands from Bearman for 2027, labelling the rumours as "nonsense".
However, fresh reports suggest Bearman's management is currently in talks with both Ferrari and Haas in a bid to secure the Briton a full-time race seat with the Scuderia for 2028.
This implies Bearman's camp is convinced the seven-time world champion will retire from Formula 1 at the end of next season, despite Hamilton insisting otherwise.
Ferrari's inability to guarantee Bearman a seat with the Prancing Horse for 2028 is understood to be the main factor stalling his contract extension.
