Ever since the Super Cup, Real Madrid have looked completely out of sorts. Having already fallen to both Olympiacos and Dubai, the Spanish giants find themselves in a deep slump. Pedro Martinez's side battled back from a double-digit deficit and even managed to take the lead, but Dimitris Itoudis' men held their nerve when it mattered most to seal the victory.
Hapoel seized the early initiative on the back of an inspired performance from Zach LeDay. Driven by the former Partizan big man, Dimitris Itoudis' squad took control to close the first quarter with a 29-20 lead.
What followed was an absolute offensive masterclass. Hapoel treated the floor like their own playground, leaving Real Madrid with no answers. Pouring in 34 points in the second quarter alone, the Israeli side built a lead of up to 22 points before heading into halftime comfortably ahead at 63-43.
However, Real Madrid can never be counted out until the final buzzer sounds. Los Blancos staged a sensational comeback in the third quarter, dominating on both ends of the court to remarkably overturn the deficit and edge ahead 75-74.
Hapoel managed to shake off the third-quarter shock, though. Vasilije Micić and Elijah Bryant delivered outstanding performances to restore a nine-point cushion. The team in red managed the game expertly down the stretch to pull off a memorable win over Real.
Vasa Micić notched 22 points, while Elijah Bryant recorded a brilliant double-double with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot contributed 21 points, while Théo Maledon led all scorers with 24.
