Williams driver Carlos Sainz has outlined his plans for Formula 1's summer break, revealing he will be spending time in the Balearic Islands with his family. The Spaniard finished 18th, two laps down, at the Hungaroring on Sunday, in a race won by McLaren's Lando Norris.

Sainz's Hungarian Grand Prix was further complicated by a collision with Oscar Piastri while being lapped, which impeded the McLaren driver and resulted in a 5-second penalty for Sainz.
The 31-year-old heads into the summer vacation 15th in the Drivers' Championship with six points, while his Williams teammate, Alex Albon, sits 16th with five points. The Grove-based team slipped to ninth in the Constructors' standings after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"I usually spend the summer in the Balearic Islands," Carlos explained. "I spend most of my time in Mallorca. That's where my parents' summer house is. My entire family spends almost a whole month there during the summer. They are there, and I join them for about two weeks, relaxing with the people I love."
"Sometimes my friends come too, and I train with them before flying to Zandvoort," Sainz added. "I also cruise around Ibiza and Menorca on my yacht, visiting my friends who live on the islands. I've been doing this for 30 years, and that's my whole summer program."
