"What Fair Play, Man?!" Golemac Storms Out of Press Conference After Avramović Question /VIDEO/
You could follow the match between Crvena Zvezda and Dubai live on Sportal.
Jurica Golemac began his press conference with a brief comment on the match.
"Congratulations to Zvezda on the win. We had a blackout at the end of the first and beginning of the second quarter. We fought back in the second half and had a chance to turn the game around. We just didn't have enough energy or aggression to complete the comeback. That's it, we move on." - Jurica Golemac
He commented on the situation with Aleksa Avramović, who admitted the ball went out of bounds off him.
"I'm a competitor. Were the referees wrong? You're asking me that, 36 free throws versus 16, is that normal? You don't know? Well, it's not up to us to decide who tipped the ball out and who didn't. Fair play is for others, for Coubertin; we're here to play. Who from Zvezda raised their hand when they committed a foul? I'm asking you, I see you're asking. What fair play, man? You come to play, you come to win." - Jurica Golemac
He clearly stated why he benched Avramović.
"A coaching decision." - Jurica Golemac
Golemac described the tensions from the first minute through a specific situation when asked by a journalist.
"I think that's a pointless question. What tensions? It's sporting tension. I see the ball is ours, what was I supposed to do? Not call a challenge? In the end, it wasn't ours, okay, I don't understand the question at all." - Jurica Golemac
He mentioned that everyone is struggling with the number of games.
"The rhythm is tough; we've played seven games in 13-14 days. One was postponed, we're lacking energy, lacking rotation. Everyone has problems with this, not just us." - Jurica Golemac
Golemac Fumes at Avramović
Dubai endured a dreadful first half in Pionir, with Crvena Zvezda dominating them in virtually every aspect of the game. As expected, Dubai's head coach, Jurica Golemac, was visibly displeased with his players' performance.
Golemac was particularly incensed with Aleksa Avramović, who showed his frustration when the Croatian-Slovenian coach sent him to the bench.
Because of this, Golemac raised his voice at Avramović and pointed for him to sit on the bench, explaining that he was being benched for previously losing possession of the ball.
The situation quickly de-escalated, and Golemac brought Avramović back onto the court shortly after.
