Weiler-Babb After Victory Over Bayern: I Play Defense and Don't Worry About My Shot!

And no, Weiler-Babb was not among the heroes of the match because of his scoring (he finished with just two points), but rather due to a stellar nine assists and the fact that he completely locked down Andreas Obst, Bayern Munich's top sharpshooter and arguably their best player.
I am very happy; we are heading in the right direction after the defeat against Partizan. We proved we can step up our defense and apply pressure. We did that against Obst tonight. We made every shot difficult for him, which kept him out of rhythm and forced him to play off the ball, which worked in our favor. I'm confident. Our shooting is solid, so I just distribute the ball and play defense—I'm not worried about my shot, it will all fall into place.Nick Weiler-Babb
He also commented on the stellar display from Koloko, Zvezda's latest addition.
He is very important to this team and means a lot to us. He's a tremendous athlete who constantly impacts the game, protects the rim exceptionally well, blocks a lot of shots, and is vital to our style of play.Nick Weiler-Babb
Navarro Also Praises Weiler-Babb
Following Crvena zvezda Meridianbet's resounding victory over Bayern, red-and-white head coach Ibon Navarro gave special credit to Nick Weiler-Babb after the Bavarian side's star, Andreas Obst, was limited to just three points.
Nick Weiler-Babb did an outstanding defensive job on Andreas Obst, but the rest of the team was very good as well. Obst is clearly their go-to guy, and we shut him down today. We brought great energy, but we still need to control defensive rebounds much better, and we still have certain issues on closeouts.Ibon Navarro
The Spanish tactician then addressed the fact that Zvezda will play seven of their next eight EuroLeague fixtures on the road.
We play seven of our next eight EuroLeague games on the road—we'll forget what our own home looks like. However, we have to maintain our energy and stay healthy. Stefan Miljenović will also be joining us, which is very positive news.Ibon Navarro
