WATCH: Ronaldo leaves stadium during Portugal training for second consecutive day
Alarm bells are ringing in the Portugal camp. Cristiano Ronaldo sat out the national team's final training session ahead of their clash with Denmark, leaving Parken Stadium in a Portuguese Football Federation van.
A fan captured the moment the 41-year-old forward left FC Copenhagen's ground alongside two members of the national team's backroom staff, just as his teammates began training under Jorge Jesus.
Ronaldo had already missed the team's previous two training sessions in Malmö, Sweden. On Tuesday, the Portugal captain stepped onto the pitch about half an hour before the session got underway, but ultimately returned to the team hotel in a Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) van. According to the governing body, the stadium gym—where Ronaldo had trained the previous day—lacked specific equipment required for his tailored individual workout routine.
As of yet, there is no official explanation for Ronaldo's departure from Parken on Wednesday. Cristiano Ronaldo's private jet is scheduled to travel to Copenhagen, where the forward is currently based with the national team squad, according to information gathered by our publication.
