Among other topics, the Bulgarian forward discussed his time in Barcelona and his relationship with Svetislav Pešić. The legendary coach arrived at Blaugrana in February 2018, and the two worked together for several months.
"Generally, I don't hold grudges and I try to see where I went wrong. Perhaps I wasn't at the level I should have been, or could have been. I'd go home and think about confronting him directly. To tell him, 'You're being unfair to me.'" - Sasha Vezenkov
The current Olympiacos player clarified the situation from his third season in Spain. He was part of Barcelona from 2015 to 2018.
"In my third year in Barcelona, some things happened with certain coaches. That year, human relationships were truly tested. You might be treated unfairly, a coach might have an issue with you, but patience and being a gentleman are important. I tried to prove myself in practice. I was the first to arrive, the last to leave. I was there for the coach, and if you don't play me, fine. I'll understand." - Sasha Vezenkov

Vezenkov explained why he won't even greet the renowned coach.
"I still have excellent relationships with the guys I played with there. We still talk a lot. They looked out for me as one of the youngest players on the team. We recently encountered that coach. I can't be two-faced. I won't greet him, I won't even say hello. As a coach, he's a very good coach with many successes." - Sasha Vezenkov
