Oleksandr Usyk tipped the scales at a career-high 105.8 kg ahead of tomorrow's heavyweight clash with Rico Verhoeven at the Giza Pyramids in Egypt. The unexpected WBC heavyweight title challenger weighed in at 117.3 kg.

Usyk, 24-0 (15 KOs), weighed just over 103.0 kg for his last bout – a fifth-round technical knockout victory over Daniel Dubois last July. Verhoeven, 1-0 (1 KO), a kickboxer, weighed 122.0 kg for his previous – and only – boxing match, a knockout win over Janos Finfera in 2014.

Also in the heavyweight division, but in a significantly more evenly matched contest, Frank Sanchez weighed 109.0 kg for his IBF eliminator against Richard Torrez Jr., who registered 104.1 kg on the scales.

In the battle for the vacant WBA 'regular' super lightweight belt, Jack Catterall weighed 66.6 kg, while his opponent Shakhram Giyasov came in at 66.1 kg.

In another title fight, Hamzah Sheeraz – 76.2 kg – is expected to claim the vacant WBO super middleweight title when he faces Alem Begic – 75.7 kg.

In the women's super flyweight division, for the WBO title, Mizuki Hiruta weighed 52.0 kg, against Mai Soliman's 51.7 kg.

The big news is Usyk hitting a career-record 105.8 kg, likely to counter the unpredictable nature of the upcoming clash, as Rico Verhoeven still outweighs him by approximately 11.3 kg, coming in at 117.3 kg.

The Ukrainian, 24-0 (15 KOs), enters the fight about 2.7 kg heavier compared to his fifth-round knockout victory over Daniel Dubois last July. In that bout, he silenced critics with a convincing performance at Wembley, achieving undisputed champion status for the third time across two different weight classes.

Peter Fury-trained Verhoeven, 1-0 (1 KO), enters this encounter approximately 3.2 kg lighter than his last kickboxing match, where he defeated Artem Vakhitov on points at 120.2 kg to defend his GLORY heavyweight title last June.

There were no weight-related issues on the undercard.
