Unexpected, even for Jokic: Between practice and a game, he left Belgrade – guess why... /VIDEO/
After an exhausting NBA season, Nikola Jokic answered coach Dusan Alimpijevic's call to play in the qualifying FIBA window. However, that doesn't mean he isn't also using his summer break for relaxation and activities that "recharge his batteries."
Just five days after Serbia's 97-73 victory over Switzerland, where he, as captain, scored 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and dished out seven assists, and only a day before the final match of the first round of World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jokic visited the Ada hippodrome to unwind with horse races.
A short video published by TV Arena Sport on Instagram shows Jokic arriving at the hippodrome with a drink in hand, and subsequently preparing a horse for a race.
It's worth noting that in this qualifying cycle, in the absence of Bogdan Bogdanovic, Jokic is captaining the Serbian national basketball team. The Eagles, provided Bosnia and Herzegovina doesn't pull off an upset on Monday, will conclude the first round of qualifiers as the second-placed team in Group C, right behind Turkey.
The World Cup is scheduled for 2027 in Qatar.
