Rakić on the UFC Spectacle in Belgrade

"It will be the pinnacle of my career, to have my hand raised in front of a home crowd. Although I grew up in Vienna, I don't feel that way; since I was 20, I've competed under the Serbian flag, and I can't wait for this fight. Intense preparations await me to get in the best possible shape, and I'm convinced this will be the highlight of everything so far. I'm working on it physically and mentally. I just need to get through the entire process without injuries and enter the octagon like the 'Rocket' everyone remembers from 2019. If that happens, and I'm convinced it will because I've put some pieces together as they should be, I think it will be my night." - Aleksandar Rakić

The Serbian light heavyweight also emphasized his expectation of an incredible atmosphere in the Belgrade Arena.

"I'll enter the octagon with the Serbian flag if possible, as sometimes the UFC doesn't allow it. As for the walkout song, I'm still thinking about that. It will be a spectacle, but that's less important; the fight is what matters. I expect the arena to be on fire; we all know we have the best fans in Europe, maybe even the world. You can see it in basketball, and I actually sent a video of our fans to one of the UFC executives who was thrilled. They need to see that we are a nation that lives for MMA, and that's the only way we'll secure them for next time. They need to see that this is a new market with potential for more." - Aleksandar Rakić

Finally, Rakić was asked if he, among others, contributed to the UFC recognizing Serbia as a partner and organizing an event in Belgrade.

"Maybe I did a little; there are many factors and other fighters like Todorović, Medić, and others... As for the UFC coming, I think Luka Nikolić and the MMA Federation deserve a lot of credit for their significant contributions." - Aleksandar Rakić
