Saints FC defends cup at fifth edition

The Saints FC won the day again at the fifth edition of the Twitter Premier League (TPL) held on Saturday, September 5 at the Campos Mini Stadium on Lagos Island.

Saints FC beat The Royals FC  2-1 in the final to win their second consecutive titles.

Six teams competed for the top honors in the fifth edition of the a-day tournament that has grown in brand and popularity among youths in Lagos.

The two finalists, two time champions, Red Devils, The Knights, The Cubs, The Guns were the team that participated in the TPL5.

The aim is to identify the fans who can back up their online football passion with talent.

The official slogan of the TPL is 'Don’t Just Tweet Football, Play Football'.
