England manager Thomas Tuchel addressed the media ahead of the Three Lions' crucial World Cup 2026 quarter-final clash against Norway. The German exuded confidence before tonight's showdown in Miami.

"Now comes the exciting part. But we need to relax, connect with our identity, with what makes us strong, to be proactive and brave. These are quarter-finals, and the brave will have luck on their side. We can't have any regrets when playing a quarter-final; we must throw ourselves into the battle, that's the most important thing," Tuchel began.

Erling Haaland stated that the pressure is on England, but the German dismissed the notion that Norway is considered an underdog, especially after their victory over Brazil. "They performed above expectations, but I think internally they know very well how good they are. They know very well how many problems they can create for any team. They proved it. They eliminated a big nation on a big stage, and from that moment on, there's no such thing as favorites."

"Everyone plays to win the tournament, and they have the right to dream. But I don't sense our players are playing with fear. I don't feel the weight of the jersey," the German specialist added.

Elsewhere in his statement, Tuchel revealed he had not received an explanation from FIFA as to why they decided to double the suspension imposed on Jarell Quansah. "I haven't received an explanation," the manager said, adding that he doesn't believe his sharp comments about the officiating after the Mexico match influenced the doubled sanction for his player.

Despite Tuchel being without the suspended Quansah, he received timely good news, confirming that Declan Rice, Marc Guehi, and Reece James are all available for the match in Miami.

Rice had been battling illness since Monday's Round of 16 victory over Mexico and was kept isolated from his teammates, while Guehi missed England's training session in Kansas City on Thursday due to hamstring concerns. However, both are now reportedly available.

"The best news is that we had everyone available in training. We had a full selection, with the exception of our suspended player Quansah. We took a big step in our last game, but it was only a small one. We are still hungry," the England manager further stated.

Regarding the other teams in the World Cup, Tuchel commented: "France was very impressive yesterday (editor's note - the other day). They are one of the main favorites. Spain in tournaments is full of confidence in their own style. They never panic. They believe in late goals. Only a few teams are left now. You're also a bit torn because you're playing against your own expectations, but you also see that the big teams are out. The quarter-finals are a step, but you want more. Hopefully, we'll have to deal with the problem of playing against one of those teams."
