Chelsea manager Liam Rossinier has announced that Enzo Fernandez will be unavailable for the team's next two matches. The decision stems from recent comments made by the player. A few days ago, the Argentine midfielder gave an interview hinting at an uncertain future with the London club and expressing a desire to live in Madrid.
“I spoke with Enzo an hour ago. As a club, with my involvement in the process, we decided he would not be available for tomorrow’s match (against Port Vale) and against Manchester City next Sunday. I think it’s disappointing for Enzo to speak in such a manner. As a person, I can’t say anything bad about him, but a line was crossed regarding our culture and what we aim to build, which is why we had to impose this sanction,” Rossinier stated.
“I have immense respect for Enzo as a person and as a player for what he has achieved. He is frustrated because he wants to be successful. Regarding the decision to remove him from the squad, it was a collective decision involving the sporting directors, owners, and players. The door is not closed for Enzo. This is not a punishment,” he added.
