Schalke 04 Joins Race For Player, Offer Four Year Deal

Nigerian midfielder Michael Babatunde is wanted in Germany by Bundesliga side Schalke 04. The European club has indicated interest in the player who in earlier reports disclosed that English Premiership side, Sunderland are making an offer for him, following his performance at the World Cup .

21 year-old Babatunde has been offered four years at the Veltins Arena; home of Gelsenkirchen based Schalke 04.

A representative of the player confirmed the offer: “There have been interests in the player with the most serious coming from Schalke 04 in Germany.

“They have tabled a four-year contract, which we are now studying.’’

The representative also confirmed that there are other interests for the Volyn oof Ukraine player but did not mention English club, Sunderland.

“Two clubs in Turkey and another in France have also indicated interest in the player."We just have to wait and see how things develop."

Michael Babatunde has two years left to his contract at Ukrainian club, Volyn Lutsk but could decide to leave the club anytime.
