Louis Van Gaal Wants Strootman In Man Utd
United coach Louis Van Gaal has set his eyes on Roma's Kevin Strootman for the coming season, the player's agent discloed while speaking to the Guardian.
Van Gaal however, must battle with the AS Roma to release the Dutch international who still has four years left to his contract.
Whether or not Roma will sell is uncertain but talks of a possible transfer have halted until January as the player is still yet to recover from a knee injury he sustained back in October.
The 24 year-old is big target for Dutch coach Van Gaal is the national team coach of the Holland team.
Strootman's agent, Chiel Dekker said.
Roma are not willing to sell and the player has not yet been contacted by the Manchester club. The whole transfer rumours are admirations of the Dutch for the 24 year-old Strootman.
Dekker added.
Strootman's future in Rome could be up for the gamble in when the transfer window opens; whether o not the clubs will do business, it all depends on the player's desire to either give up Champions league play next season with Roma or a spell under his Dutch national team coach.
Dekker concluded that: "The clubs have to decide. He's very happy at Rome, he's happy to stay because they play Champions League next season and happy to recover [from] his injury, so at this stage we are not part of any discussion."
United should have signed a central midfielder had Van Gaal not put off the Toni Kroos chase.
