The two former Benfica players will now share a locker room for the first time in their careers, fueling excitement among supporters of the club where both took their first steps in football.

Cervi departed Rosario in 2016 to join Benfica and remained at the Estádio da Luz for five seasons. During his time with Benfica, he secured two national championships, two Supertaças, and one Taça de Portugal, before moving to Celta Vigo, where he spent the last five campaigns.

Now, ten years after his departure, the winger is returning to his roots to rejoin the club that launched him into European football and link up with Di María — who played for the Eagles between 2007 and 2010, and then again from 2023 to 2025 — forming a duo of former Benfica stars poised to ignite the dreams of Rosario Central fans.
