Rio Ave is actively pursuing a versatile midfielder for coach Sotiris Silaidopoulos, especially with Aguilera's absence. Their target is Mohammadjavad, a 23-year-old Iranian midfielder from Russia's Dynamo Makhachkala. A left-footed player, he can operate as a central midfielder or in a more advanced role.
Shamil Gazizov, Dynamo Makhachkala's general director, has publicly tempered reports suggesting the Iranian midfielder Javad's transfer to the Vila do Conde club for €1.5 million is a done deal. Speaking to 'RB Sport', the executive emphasized that the agreement with the Portuguese club is not yet finalized.
"For now, not everything is fully agreed upon; the deal hasn't materialized yet," stated the general director.

When questioned about the hurdles, Gazizov explained that negotiations with foreign clubs are complex. "With foreign clubs, you can negotiate and negotiate, and everything can go wrong due to certain situations we find ourselves in. There are many issues related to transfers [of money] and other things. It's not a simple story," he detailed.
Mohammadjavad, an Iranian international, joined Dynamo Makhachkala last August from Iranian club Sepahan SC. He is under contract with the Russian club until 2027 and made 29 appearances, scoring four goals, in the last Russian championship season.
