Gonçalo Guedes could be heading to the Middle East. A BOLA has learned that Real Sociedad, who hold the Portuguese international's contract, are in talks with Al Wahda of the United Arab Emirates regarding a potential transfer for the versatile winger.
The Benfica academy product was part of the Portuguese national team for the 2026 World Cup but ultimately wasn't utilized by Roberto Martínez during the tournament. This followed a strong season in Spain where he scored nine goals and provided nine assists in 39 appearances for the txuri-urdin.
Now, Guedes might be swayed by the financial incentives offered by Al Wahda, a club managed by Brazilian coach Péricles Chamusca, who enjoys a significant reputation in Middle Eastern football.
The 29-year-old forward is under contract with Real Sociedad until June 2029. In addition to the clubs already mentioned, he has also played for PSG, Valencia, Wolverhampton, and Villarreal.
