Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly on the verge of leaving Marseille to sign with newly-promoted LaLiga side Deportivo La Coruña, according to L'Équipe. The 37-year-old forward did not travel with the team to Ivory Coast for their pre-season camp, opting instead for the Spanish challenge over an offer from Turkey.

The experienced Gabonese international did not join the French club's contingent that departed for Ivory Coast on Wednesday, remaining at his residence in Aix-en-Provence. His transfer to Spain, where he previously played for Barcelona, is expected to be officially announced in the coming hours.

The Spanish club, which secured promotion to LaLiga, has already reached an agreement with Marseille for a transfer fee reportedly around 1.5 million euros. Aubameyang was also courted by Turkish side Corum, who offered him a two-year contract with a net salary of 3.5 million euros per season.

Despite the lucrative financial offer from Turkey, the 37-year-old forward showed a clear preference for the sporting project in Spain. His commitment to Deportivo La Coruña is expected to be finalized very soon, where he will link up with teammate Yeremay Hernández.
