Twelve of the fourteen fighters slated for the UFC White House gala event faced off on Friday during the inaugural press conference. With the UFC White House event just five weeks away, all participants are already in peak fighting condition.
UFC held its first press conference for the upcoming gala on Friday, immediately preceding the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC 328. Dubbed UFC Freedom 250, the event is shaping up to be one of the organization's most significant in history. To mark the occasion, promoters gathered all 14 fighters from the card for the press conference, with 12 of them engaging in face-offs afterward.
Earlier in the week, the main and co-main event participants had their first staredown on the White House lawn.
However, on Friday, all four did so again following the press conference. Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje displayed good sportsmanship, while Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane maintained a respectful distance during their intense staredown.
The remaining fighters on the UFC White House card were also scheduled for face-offs, but plans shifted slightly. Hoquit was ejected from the event after nearly coming to blows with Topuria. Consequently, he and Derrick Lewis did not face off. The other eight fighters on the card, however, completed their staredowns without incident.
The UFC White House gala event is scheduled for June 14th on the White House lawn.
