The singer graduates from prestigious songwriting college

Berklee College of Music, located in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, is the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world.

Known primarily as the world's foremost institute for the study of jazz and modern American music, it also offers college-level courses in a wide range of contemporary and historic styles, including rock, flamenco, hip hop, reggae, salsa, and bluegrass. As of 2016, Berklee alumni have been awarded a total of 266 Grammy Awards. Tiwa Savage is another notable alumni artist from Nigeria who graduated from the prestigious music college in 2007.

Timi Dakolo shared the good news of his graduation certificate via his Instagram page.

“ I Can't Describe The Feeling...Words Would Be Inadequate. .. Just Grateful To God...And Family... All Of The Things I Have Accomplished ...My Grannie Would Really Be Proud Of This One!!!”, the vocalist enthused.

Dakolo  started singing at the tender age of twelve and in 2003 he joined the singing group Purple Love as a founding member, however the band disbanded in 2005.

Dakolo’s breakthrough came in May 26, 2007 when he won the first season of  Nigerian Idols West Africa, earning him a recording contract with Sony BMG.

In 2011 Timi Dakolo released his debut album “ Beautiful noise” featuring  songs such as ‘There’s a cry’, ‘Great Nation’ and ‘Heaven Please’.

He is well known for his love song ‘Iyawo Mi’ released in 2014 and his 2015 song ‘Wish me well’ which he won the best  Best Male PerformanceBest R&B Single and Best Recording of The Year prize at the Headies 2015 miusic awards ceremony held in Lagos, Nigeria.
