Rewind to 2007, Timi Dakolo won the first season of Idols West Africa. Now fast forward to 2016, Dakolo is one of the most admired singers in Nigeria.

‘Wish me well’
His 2015 single ‘Wish me well’ led the R&B singer to win Best Male Performance, Best R&B Single and Best Recording of The Year at the 2015 Headies awards. The song was produced by Cobhams Asuquo.
‘Great nation’
‘Great nation’ has been dubbed as the second Nigerian national anthem. Despite being a ballad, the song’s message of hope has caused many to stand and sing along during performances by Dakolo.
‘Iyawo mi’
‘Iyawo mi’ is a soulful tune complimented by easy-going horns, guitar strings, and drums giving it a traditional melody. Cobhams Asuquo produced the love song. In the music video for the song Dakolo featured his wife and mother of his three kids.
‘Let it shine’
The inspirational melody titled ‘Let it shine’ is off the crooner’s debut album “Beautiful Noise”.
‘There’s a cry’
Dakolo is known for making music that tells a story. On ‘There’s a cry’ he sings about the ills and deprivation of the Niger Delta.
