The United States Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, is currently in a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after arriving the country on Monday, March 12, 2018.

Tillerson's trip to Nigeria is the last stop in his tour of Sub-Saharan African after visits to Chad, Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya.
His meeting with the president was announced by Buhari's Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad on Twitter.
Ahmad tweeted, "The United States' Secretary of State, Mr. Rex Tillerson arrives Presidential Villa, Abuja to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari."
Tillerson is the highest ranking US official to visit Nigeria since Donald Trump was inaugurated as president in January 2017.
