The three suspects, Emem Udo Etim Okon, Uduak Ekpeyong, and Imaobong Nyong were charged following a failed attempt to sell a person.

Three women sentenced to two years in prison for attempted sale of human
National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) secured the conviction of the three women to the court.
According to NAPTIP, the act contradicts sections 21 and 29 of the TIPPEA 2015.
