Manchester City midfielder Nico O'Reilly has withdrawn from the England camp due to injury and returned to his club for further assessment. The 21-year-old sat out Tuesday's 2-0 win over Czech Republic after struggling with a fitness issue and has now been ruled out of the upcoming Nations League clash against Croatia.

O'Reilly played the full 90 minutes in last week's 3-2 defeat to Spain, but Thomas Tuchel admitted after the match that the player was struggling. "I can't say yes or no, that's the honest answer. He wasn't available today, wasn't on the bench either, so we have three days and will do everything we can to get him ready," the manager said at the time.

The German tactician will not call up a replacement for O'Reilly for the remainder of the camp. Lewis Hall is expected to retain his spot at left-back against Croatia following a solid display in the win over Czech Republic. Meanwhile, Jobe Bellingham and Lewis Miley have also left the Under-21 squad due to injuries. For O'Reilly, it comes as another blow just as he was establishing himself as a key figure in Tuchel's side, having already earned 13 caps for the national team. England travel to face Croatia on Saturday before hosting Czech Republic at Wembley on Tuesday.
