Mother, along with lover, beats her 2-yr-old to death for crying

Maribel Palacios Posada, 24, and her boyfriend Gerardo Gonzalez Mayoral, 27, are said to have murdered the child at their home in Mexico City, Huffington Post reports.

Maribel is facing a possibility of life imprisonment for beating her daughter to death to stop her from crying.The couple initially lied that the girl had sustained her injuries falling down the stairs - but under further questioning Posada confessed that she and her partner regularly beat her daughter when she cried.

The couple, who are in custody, claimed they had taken the girl to a doctor and had returned home with her after being told it was nothing serious.
