That's How It's Done: Maccabi Secures Centers in Two Days

Maccabi Tel Aviv swiftly addressed their center position needs for the upcoming season. Following the acquisition of Daniel Thies, the club has now officially announced the arrival of Armando Bacot.

Bacot arrives in Tel Aviv aiming to provide support from the bench and seize opportunities that were scarce during his last season with Fenerbahçe. In the EuroLeague, he averaged a mere 10 minutes per game, contributing 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds. He saw slightly more playing time in the Turkish championship, where he averaged around 17.5 minutes on court, posting better stats with six points and 3.4 rebounds, alongside a 49.4% field goal percentage.

Last season marked his first true professional campaign, following five years at the University of North Carolina and a season in the G-League with the Memphis Hustle. With newfound European experience, he could prove to be a valuable asset for Maccabi, especially considering he'll be playing for a relatively modest salary of $500,000 per season.

According to Israeli media reports, Bacot had more lucrative offers from Turkey and Spain but ultimately chose Maccabi, signing a two-year deal.

With Bacot, Thies, and Roman Sorkin, who has been with the team since 2021, Maccabi now boasts a complete center rotation.
