Budkowski joins the team with over two decades of Formula 1 experience and will contribute to the team's ongoing operational growth and long-term competitive development. His appointment is part of a planned leadership transition as the organization moves from its initial build-out phase to the next stage focused on racing performance.

“Marcin’s appointment marks another significant step in the ongoing development of the Cadillac Formula 1 team,” stated Dan Tauris, the team’s CEO. “From the outset, our goal wasn't just to participate in Formula 1, but to build a next-generation team capable of competing at the front. As we enter this new era for the Cadillac team, Marcin brings exceptional experience, technical expertise, and strategic leadership that will strengthen our organization and help us cultivate the mindset, tools, and processes necessary for long-term success.” “We are grateful to Graham Loudon for his leadership and the role he played in building the Cadillac Formula 1 team from the ground up. His contributions helped establish a strong foundation during our build phase, and we thank him for his dedication and wish him all the best,” Tauris added.

Budkowski's Formula 1 experience spans engineering, regulatory, and executive leadership roles. His career includes senior positions at Prost, Ferrari, McLaren, the FIA, and Renault/Alpine, where he helped transition the team into the Alpine era as Executive Director and Board Member. Throughout his career, the 49-year-old Polish-French engineer has worked with multiple championship-winning organizations, overseeing engineering, technical, sporting, and operational functions while helping to shape the sport's future direction through team and regulatory leadership. The polyglot is widely recognized in the paddock for his expertise in technical development, race strategy, and organizational leadership, and has recently consulted for teams, drivers, and motorsport organizations across the global racing industry.

“The Cadillac Formula 1 team possesses an exceptional foundation and ambition. This is a phase of immense opportunity for the team, which will be defined by a clear objective: maximizing car development within the cost cap and directing every function within the team towards racing. This means building an elite organization with a winning mentality – motivated, relentless in the face of setbacks, obsessed with details and processes, and capable of executing with precision on race day. My focus will be on synchronizing our people, tools, and information flow so that the right decisions are made quickly and car performance improves every time we race. It is a privilege to lead the Cadillac team’s efforts on track, starting at Zandvoort next weekend,” said Marcin Budkowski.
