Iwobi shades Trent Alexander-Arnold over his 'limited' defensive abilities
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has indirectly questioned the defensive abilities of Liverpool and England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
During an interview to pick the defender who he would prefer to attack or find easier to attack, Iwobi chose Alexander-Arnold instead of Manchester City and England right-back Kyle Walker.
Other playing for opposing Premier League sides, Iwobi and Alexander-Arnold are also on opposite sides of the Merseyside derby with Liverpool and Everton being historical rivals.

Iwobi has enjoyed a resurgence in his career this season, playing the full 90 minutes and impressing when Everton bravely secured a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park on Matchday 6 of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Iwobi was asked: "Would you rather attack against Kyle Walker or Trent Alexander-Arnold?”
The Nigerian international answered: "As in I’m attacking them? They’re both good in their respective areas, but Alexander-Arnold still, but I rate him, I rate him offensively."
While picking to play against Alexander-Arnold when attacking, Iwobi acknowledged the attacking capabilities of the Liverpool player also, stating that he 'rates' Alexander-Arnold offensively.
Iwobi will be back in action for Everton on Saturday, October 1 when they travel to St. Mary's Stadium to take on Joe Aribo's Southampton for their Matchday 8 fixture in the Premier League.
The Everton star has been involved in three (3) goals this season, picking up assists in both the Premier League (Leeds United and West Ham United) and the EFL Cup (Fleetwood Town).
