‘Feeling it’ - Balogun, Lookman celebrate European semi final spots
Super Eagles of Nigeria stars Leon Balogun and Ademola Lookman have taken to social media to celebrate the success of their respective teams on Thursday, April 14, 2022.
Balogun was on the bench for 90 minutes for the second leg Europa League fixture between Scottish side Rangers and Portuguese giants Braga at the Ibrox Stadium.
Rangers recorded a 2-1 scoreline to even the series 3-3 on aggregate.
Going into extratime, Balogun was introduced in place of Borna Barisic.
Balogun would help Rangers keep a clean sheet as they booked a spot in the semifinals with another goal in extra time.
The 33-year-old defender took to his official Instagram account to celebrate the win.
Along with a photo from the game was a message that said, 'I’m feeelin‘ iiit - into the semis
Lookman on the other hand was in action as Premier League outfit Leicester City came from a goal down to defeat PSV in a second-leg Europa Conference League.
With Leicester City a goal down, Brendan Rodgers introduced Lookman in place of Harvey Barnes at the halftime break.
The change would spark a response from Leicester City as they scored two goals in the second half to win the game.
The 24-year-old forward took to his official Instagram account to celebrate Leicester City booking their first European semi final appearance.
Along with a photo was a message that said, '"All smiles with my brother 💙 semi- finalsss !!!! Cmon."
Balogun's Rangers will now take on Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in the Europa League while Lookman's Leicester City face off against Jose Mourinho's AS Roma in the Europa Conference League as both semi finals are scheduled for Thursday, April 28, 2022.
