Getafe secured their third La Liga victory of the season after staging an impressive comeback to beat Sevilla 3-1 at home. The win lifted the Madrid-based outfit out of the relegation zone and up to 12th in the table.

The hosts started brightly at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, applying early pressure. Their first clear-cut opportunity fell to Sebastian Boselli, whose header flew inches wide of the post.

Against the run of play, however, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 19th minute. Kike Salas powered into the penalty area, capitalized on a lapse in the home defense, and headed home Felix Correia's cross to make it 1-0. The goal dealt a heavy blow to Getafe, whose rhythm completely fell apart.

Sevilla turned up the pressure toward the end of the first half, though clear chances remained scarce. The visitors still came close to doubling their advantage, but home goalkeeper David Soria produced a crucial save to deny Gabriel Suazo and keep the deficit at just one heading into the break.

Getafe came out stronger in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Vlachodimos pulled off a superb save to deny Garcia in what was the hosts' best chance of the match up to that point. Getafe kept pushing and found their equalizer six minutes later, when Satriano produced a fine run down the right flank and whipped a cross to the near post for Enes Unal to turn in.

Getafe completed the turnaround in the 73rd minute when Satriano cleverly flicked home Unal's delivery from the right with a neat backheel. The assistant referee had flagged for a Garcia foul on Bueno in the build-up, but the referee played on. Following a lengthy VAR review, the goal was allowed to stand. Replays showed there was indeed no foul, though several Sevilla players had stopped playing upon seeing the linesman's flag, sparking furious protests from the visitors.

Sevilla were reduced to ten men in stoppage time when Manu Bueno, as the last defender, was sent off for bringing down a surging Satriano. Getafe capitalized on their numerical advantage to add a third through Orel Mangala, who latched onto a pass inside the box from Garcia and fired home first-time to seal a 3-1 victory.
