McLaren boss Andrea Stella has warned Alpine driver Franco Colapinto that he should be more concerned about potential repercussions from Flavio Briatore than any penalty from the FIA.

The FIA handed Colapinto a five-place grid penalty for the Malaysian Grand Prix, while Briatore reportedly warned the Argentine that there would be “consequences.”
The incident in question occurred during the restart of the 36-lap race in Baku, where Colapinto locked his brakes heading into Turn 1, colliding with teammate Pierre Gasly, who in turn sent world champion Lando Norris into the wall. Norris subsequently called for Colapinto to be banned for a race, stating that he didn't belong in Formula 1.
“This is a complex matter,” Stella explained, speaking before the stewards' decision was announced. “I'm sure the incident will also be reviewed by Flavio. I'm not sure who will impose the harsher penalty. Colapinto should be worried about Flavio's reaction.”
“Flavio might forgive Franco, but he certainly won't forget what happened in Baku.”
