Sporting Squad Completes Final Training Before Algarve Camp

Sporting's squad completed their final training session at the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy this Saturday morning before heading to Lagos for their pre-season training camp. The team, led by Rui Borges, is scheduled for their first pitch activity at 10:00 AM at the Cascade Wellness Resort, where they will be staying.

Prior to the session, a player will be available to speak with the media, with the first fifteen minutes open to press professionals. The list of players head coach Rui Borges will take for this preparation phase has not yet been released, but it is expected that Vagiannidis and Kochorashvili have already joined the group. Hjulmand, however, will not be present, having already been officially confirmed at Atl-Madrid. The final squad selection will only be known upon their arrival in the Algarve.

During the training camp, Uruguayan internationals Maxi Araújo and Rodrigo Zalazar, who participated in the World Cup but exited early, will link up with their teammates. While in the south of the country, the Lions will face Scottish giants Celtic on Tuesday. They will then test themselves against French side Strasbourg in a friendly match scheduled for the 20th, which is the Monday of the penultimate week of July, marking the end of this preparation phase.
