Spanish international Marcos Llorente has expressed his delight for teammate Pedro Porro, who effectively displaced him from Spain's starting lineup at the World Cup. The Atlético Madrid player began the tournament as a starter but was gradually overtaken by the Tottenham defender. Porro even scored the second goal in their 2-0 semi-final victory over France last night.

“Pedro Porro is having a fantastic World Cup. We have a great relationship, and I am incredibly happy for him. He's a wonderful person, and I'm glad everything is going his way. He played a fantastic match – and not just because of the goal. It was miraculous,” Llorente stated, as quoted by BTA.

The footballer also responded to complaints from the French team regarding the refereeing in the semi-final match.

“I don't care. We won because we were better. I don't know, they need something to cling to,” he added.
