South Africa's Eskom to cut 1,000 MW of power on Wednesday

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's power utility Eskom said on Wednesday it would cut up to 1,000 megawatts of electricity from the grid as several generating units were out of service for maintenance.

The state-owned firm said power would be cut from 1400 GMT to 2000 GMT to prevent the grid from collapse.
