Liverpool manager Arne Slot has provided an update on the fitness of Mohamed Salah, Jeremie Frimpong, Alisson Becker, and Federico Chiesa. The Egyptian forward missed the match against Brighton before the international break due to a muscle injury. Chiesa played in that game but was released from the Italian national team camp upon returning home, with reports indicating he was unfit to play. Alisson also sat out the Brighton clash and continues to recover from his injury, while Frimpong was forced off after just 12 minutes in the Netherlands' friendly yesterday.
“Salah is very, very close. He’s recovering incredibly quickly. He’ll train again tomorrow, and if all goes well, he’ll be available for the City game. Regarding Jeremie, the Dutch national team doctor informed us that his withdrawal was a precautionary measure. He’ll undergo a scan later to assess his condition. Alisson will be out for a bit longer. Federico couldn’t play for Italy and has returned. However, he will train again tomorrow and be available for the weekend’s match,” Slot stated. He also previously revealed that Aleksandar Isak would rejoin team training tomorrow.
