'Please be patient as we repair Benin Airport runway' - FAAN urges

FAAN made the appeal as the contractor and Civil department work to complete the rehabilitation of the runway.

As rehabilitation work is underway in the Benin Airport, the management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has appealed for patience.

FAAN Public Relations Officer, Mrs Michelle Dan-Oshevir, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said the essence of upgrading the runway is for security and safety of everybody.

Said Dan-Oshevir,

"All what we need now is little patience; after the upgrading operations will commence immediately. The prediction of completion is July 10 that is why we have both the FAAN Civil Department and the contractor working tirelessly to ensure the deadline is met”

She however, said that the tarmac was open for the use of private jets but would not accommodate commercial aircraft because of size.
