Singer joins BET Experience line up

BET has announced international R&B singer Mary J. Blige will be performing at the upcoming BET Experience Africa in South Africa.

The American star will be joining some of Africa’s biggest stars including undefinedand AKA (South Africa) to entertain music lovers at the urban culture festival.

She is not the only international star who will be taking the stage this year. Also preforming are Maxwell, Raphael Saadiq, Tamar Braxton and Young Thug.

This is not Blige’s first gig in South Africa, the ‘’ crooner previously performed in the home of Bafana Bafana in 2007.

The lifestyle festival is set to showcase food, fashion, music, dance and sport. It will feature a celebrity basket ball game and stand-up routines from comedy stars.

There will also be informative and instructive Genius Talks curated by experts and opinion formers in various fields including Fikile Mbalula, South Africa's Minister for Sports & Recreation.

The 2015 BET Experience takes place on December 12, 2015 at Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg. The outdoor event is inspired by the BET Experience, held annually in Los Angeles.

BET Africa launched on DSTV in April of this year. The entertainment brand is looking at creating local content with shows like ‘Top Actor Africa’ and ‘Buzz’.
