Members protest over alleged plan to offload colleagues

Members of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities in their scores, on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest at the campus of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta over an alleged plan to retrench over 2,000 workers in  Universities’ Staff Schools .

The Association during the peaceful protest, alleged that the government has directed all Vice Chancellors to stop paying workers of  Staff Schools of universities which the union said could result to loss of jobs of over two thousands members working in staff schools in the country.

The protesters were led by the Association's Vice President in South West, Alfred  Jimoh, the acting  Ogun  state chairman  of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Dare  Ilekoya and the branch Chairman of SSANU,  Abdul Sobur  Salam.
