Sean O'Malley reminded everyone why he's one of the most dangerous bantamweights in the UFC, securing a spectacular knockout victory over Aiemann Zahabi at the historic UFC Freedom 250 event, held in front of the White House. The former champion showcased his striking superiority for the majority of the bout before finishing the fight in the second round. From the outset, O'Malley took control. The American commanded the center of the octagon, effectively utilizing his straight punches, constantly switching stances, and keeping Zahabi at bay with quick, sharp attacks. The Canadian struggled to find his range, primarily relying on low kicks to disrupt his opponent's rhythm. Despite this, O'Malley was the more accurate and active fighter.

Towards the end of the first round, he landed several clean shots, including a heavy right cross just before the bell. The second round began similarly. Zahabi continued to target O'Malley's legs, while the American responded with precise lead hand strikes and head combinations. Gradually, the damage to Zahabi's face began to accumulate, with his nose already bleeding. The decisive moment arrived in the final minute of the round. Following another accurate jab, O'Malley unleashed a lightning-fast cross that sent Zahabi to the canvas for the first time. The Canadian managed to get back to his feet but had no time to recover. O'Malley immediately pressed forward, meeting him with a classic one-two combination. The new blows rocked Zahabi and sent him to the ground again, forcing referee Jason Herzog to stop the contest.
