Sean Brady returned to his winning ways with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Joaquin Buckley at UFC 328.
After a disappointing performance against Michael Morales, which resulted in a knockout loss, Brady came back stronger than ever. He secured multiple takedowns and controlled Buckley on the ground for three rounds. There were several moments where it looked like Brady might finish the fight, but Buckley survived until the final bell. Ultimately, the judges scored the bout 30-25, 30-25, and 30-27 in favor of Brady, who is now recovering after a tough night against Morales last November.
"I wasn't mentally there for that fight against Michael Morales, but during the training camp for this bout, I was completely focused for 15 minutes," Brady stated. "Kamaru Usman couldn't hold him down the way I did. I'm back in the game. Everyone chirping online... if you're not with me, social media isn't real, screw you! I'm a top 5 welterweight fighter. I deserve this."
Over the past few years, Brady has been a consistent contender in the welterweight division, but losses to Morales and Belal Muhammad have prevented him from reaching a potential title shot. On Saturday, he returned to the win column with the hope of building a new streak that will ultimately lead to a chance at UFC gold.
