The American, Mike Leavitt created them to honour his favourite movie directors. Leavitt created 16 wooden sculptures depicting them.

The shapes of the sculptures are unusual because they are merged with characters from their movies. Mike says on his website: "Great film directors get cut up. They take pains with the details, story, money and sacrifices to their vision. Their body succumbs to the pressure. Art and film treat my pain. They're magic. They trick me into remembering why this world is so damn beautiful."

The sculptures are made from scratch with wood and polymer clay.
