SC Braga Transfer Market: Barcelona Prospect Arrives in Minho Today

Tommy Marqués, the highly-touted 19-year-old prospect from La Masia, is set to arrive in Minho this Thursday to bolster SC Braga, following an agreement reached between the Arsenalistas and Barcelona for the young defensive midfielder.

Initially, the deal was reportedly structured at €10 million, plus an additional €2 million in performance-related add-ons. However, the final agreement was sealed for a fixed fee of €11 million.

According to the newspaper Sport, Ajax made a late attempt to hijack the deal for Marqués, but the player ultimately chose the project presented to him by SC Braga.

The official announcement of Tommy Marqués joining Carlos Vicens' squad is expected to take place between today and Friday.
