Lukas Hornicek, 23, is one of the most talked-about names in the domestic market. According to A BOLA's findings, he is being internally scouted by FC Porto and, internationally, by European giant Bayern Munich.

On FC Porto's side, who have other names on their radar besides Hornicek, a formal approach would only occur if Diogo Costa is sold this transfer window. Costa's value has significantly increased due to his excellent performances for Portugal at the World Cup, with the Dragons demanding his €60M release clause or a figure very close to it. As for Bayern, reports indicate the Czech goalkeeper is on their list of potential replacements for Manuel Neuer, who has announced his retirement in 2027.

However, neither club has, as yet, formally approached the SAD led by António Salvador. Should they do so, they will receive a clear answer: the Czech will only leave for his release clause, which stands at €30M. While there might be room for a slight discount, it won't be significant, especially since the Minho club secured their position when Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) — owners of PSG — acquired a stake in the Braga sports society. Furthermore, the club previously sold Rodrigo Zalazar's economic rights to Sporting for €30M, providing financial comfort to navigate the transfer market.

While Hornicek's value is well-known domestically, the Czech gained significant international recognition for his performances in last season's Europa League, where the 'Arsenalistas' reached the semi-finals before being eliminated by Germany's Freiburg.

Lukas Hornicek was part of the Czech Republic squad at the World Cup, though he didn't play any minutes. This wasn't an issue, as his talent was already well-established. However, shortly before the tournament, he had the opportunity to earn his first international cap in a friendly against Kosovo.

The keeper is a product of the 'Arsenalista' academy, having arrived in Minho at just 17 from Czech club Pardubice. Initially on loan, but for a short period, as after only one season with the U19s, he convinced club officials to make his transfer permanent for just €900,000. The Archbishops' City club intends to renew the player's contract upon his return from holiday, extending it beyond 2028 and increasing his release clause. However, this might not happen, as market forces can sometimes be relentless…
